6000-fold particulate matter pollution on New Year's Eve

Bonn - New Year's Eve 2007/2008, measured the weather service meteorologist of the Bonn Donnerwetter.de first time the matter pollution. And came to a shocking conclusion.
Because the level was 6300 times higher than normal. "Normally, the particulate concentrations of outdoor air is around 22 micrograms. Shortly after midnight, we have measured values over 140,000 micrograms (or 140 milligrams) - the 6300-fold," explains Dr. Karsten Brandt of Donnerwetter.de compared EXPRESS.DE.
This is caused by dense fog after the explosions of fireworks. For comparison, the much-discussed EU limit values for PM concentrations in inner cities, which may be exceeded on 50 days in the daily mean, at 50 micrograms.
"We have never experienced such high levels before," said Dr. Brandt. "The effect of New Year's air can be compared only if we can draw the same time a Non smoking more cigarettes."
Now consider the meteorologists initiate legal action. For already a year ago, they informed the manufacturers of bangers and rockets, and asked them to at least a reference to their products in print. Done is still nothing.
